Best stores on the East Side
« on: February 08, 2013, 11:47:51 AM »
Hi all,

Typically I hit three stores, all on Gratiot.  They are Sea World, Tropical Treasures, and Oceans and Seas.  Am I missing any good ones that I do not know about?

Thanks.

You can find some interesting things and reasonable prices at Lou's. It depends on what you are looking for.

If you stop in a greenwoods, they have fish but hardly any dry good's.

Also anchor Bay aquarium in New Baltimore.

I was just in Ocean and seas 2 days ago and they had a nice  assortment of smaller cichlids

There is two tropical treasure locations?  I had no idea. Are they both owned by the same people or just the same name?

If you consider Royal Oak as being on the east side, you will not find any better LFS's than The Aquarium Shop and Royal Tropical Fish. They are only a couple miles apart and both have very good Cichlids plus good prices...

I like Kee's too.  I would have to consider that my most local store.  Being right on the way home from work really helps too.

http://www.louspetshop.com/ - they're in Grosse Pointe Woods.  I've never been out that way since every time I called about a certain fish I wanted they didn't carry or were out of it.

Oh damn... forgot all about Lou's !!!!  I used to go there when I was a little kid and lived in SCS.

Brings back some memories.  So glad to see they are still open!

Although I agree those are a couple of the best stores they are not on the east side.
