Turtleman's Kawanga Gold Zebras
« on: February 04, 2013, 09:52:25 PM »
I've had these guys for a while. They've been growing well but weren't really coloring up. I'm hoping they're finally ready to start producing some fry soon...

It looks like you've got at least 2 starting to get some good color.

Overall I love the tank setup - great combination of color choices, nice rockwork, etc. Did you feed them right before filming or are they normally that active throughout the tank?

Yeah, I fed them beforehand. They are normally active any time I'm around...expecting food. Lol.

They're free swimming. Might grow them out to keep a few females.  ;)

Kawangas on left and White Labs on right.

I found the gold kawangas to be a lot like like what Ps. saulosi are known for... they seem to throw a lot more males than females.

are you bringing any kawanga fry down with you?
I have about 18,000 rounds of .223 I'm  looking to get rid of, 100 rd bags. 1-4 bags $40 ea, 5-9 bags $38 ea, 10 or more bags $35 ea. I can't put this in the for sale section, its not fish related. No shipping.

Time for an update: My ratio in my previous group was horrendous. 8M 2F. So I sold off a bunch of extra males and unfortunately still lost my females due to aggression. Eventually I sold my remaining males and kept these to grow out and start a new group. I've had one hold so far but she swallowed. They are doing well tho and hopefully will start breeding soon.
