Hard to get fish
« on: January 31, 2013, 10:30:55 AM »
So, in my quest for a Muzi... I started to think about what other fish are difficult to find, but highly sought after.

So, what other fish are out there that you dont see and just have to snatch up when you do come across them?

If I had an open tank and the price was under $75...probably a gulper cat.  But no one has them around here or they're $150+.

If I found a breeding pair/trio of L134 leopard frog plecos, I'd grab them.  But...I don't know that they're that rare.

Ramsdeni....  I've been keeping Cichlids for over 13yrs & have yet to see one.

Thats a nice looking fish.  Never heard of it before.  Looks to grow quite big.

If I found a breeding pair/trio of L134 leopard frog plecos, I'd grab them.  But...I don't know that they're that rare.

I have always liked the strange plecos.  I just am too cheap to buy them.  After I took my little break from fish, I was surprised on how some that were once so expensive are not reasonable.  Then others are the opposite.

If I had an open tank and the price was under $75...probably a gulper cat.  But no one has them around here or they're $150+.

Hmmm... I thought gulper cat just referred to the big cats.  But, now I see its an actual type of catfish.  Pretty strange looking.  I'll have to find out the story on these.  They gulp air, or are those pictures really a belly that full of some kind of food?

What about a Blue Eye Pleco.....

I used to have one too.  I think I paid $25 for it at the time and that was a lot.

I hope you find the munzi ken. Id like to se e those.

Its a mission now for my wife and I.  I think we want to get a Gold Head and also a Gold head Muzi.  I know someone that has at least a Gold Head, if not also a Muzi... but he would sell his son off before the fish.

Question that is not related to this posting:  is a Yellow Blaze the same thing as a Sulfer head ?
