Everything I've read says they like room to swim but it's always worth a try.  Maybe shine paracyp nigripinnis (sp?) you could always do shellies
55 gallon PS. williamsi north, elongatus chewere and syndontis petricola

40 breeder synodontis petricola with an asian twist. A pair of chinese vermillion gobies and a trio of betta splendens.

40 breeder soon to be salty fish with live rock, possibly adding some lps and soft corals after

Have you considered Angelfish? They'd probably do okay.

What about an Apistogramma variant or else checkerboard cichlids?  They'd definitely stay small enough.  Or do you just want to do Africans?  If Africans, then one of the shelldwellers is about all I can think of small enough for a 35 hex.

Do a dwarf cichlid from West Africa...you could do Pelvicachromis but I would suggest Nannochromis transvestitus (no jokes please) and a school of Congo tetras.
A few rocks, a couple pieces of driftwood with Anubias attached....
Now, that would be a cool looking tank!!!

I really only guessed 2 the size of tank very poorly guessed  ( not use to guesing hex sizes) looked up on line its inly 20 gallons  like your suggestion but do you think a 20 would be big enough for the nanos ( the congos seam like they would be to big

Oh, I corrected it...the "Y" is right next to the "T" on the keyboard  ::)

You're just upset because I said no joking about the transvestitus.  :P
