A couple Gulper cats would work nicely. Make short work of them tutti-fruity tetras

My suggestion...500 of those pink Angels!!! Imagine the site of them under proper lighting!! Almost makes me want to get back into fish!!!

The Atabapo I pikes would do fine if introduced at the same time as the other fish.  Their aggression is more intra-specific and they aren't tough on other similar-sized fish.  As long as they all have plenty of room, as in a 500 gallon tank, they will do fine.  (I have an extra M/F pair of the Atabapo I's if you're interested.)

The discus might have stress issues with the aggression levels of the other fish, as well as trouble competing for sufficient foods.  Discus prefer to graze off of the bottom, so the activities of the other fish might keep them moving too much to feed properly.

Otherwise, the combination of the predators sound good.  I really like the tigrinus cat.

Why not keep a separate tank with the discus with the Tutti-Fruity tetras?

I had other catfish suggestions for you last night but all of the other exotics I have kept would grow too large and eat everything on your proposed stock list  :o
Yea....  I'm not too interested in giant catfish.

I've seen a video of a gulper cat eating a fish the same size as itself.  I think I'll pass.   ;)

So your saying I should redesign the room and put in 2 500 gallon aquariums?

I would be VERY interested in the pair of pikes.  Trouble is I have no where for them yet.  I have 2 120's and a 240 sitting empty but I didn't want to set them up until I got my fishroom done.  PM me a price.

Yep, two 500 gallon tanks would be great! No hurry on the Atabapo I pair...they're not going anywhere.  I'll PM you a price.

Did you see the 2,900 gallon acrylic tank on Aquabid?  14' long by 7' deep by 4' tall.  Double Bull-Nose, viewable from 360 degees, and only $29,000.

Now THAT's a Wish List item.  I presented it as an indoor snorkeling pool for my wife...the wordless expression I received in return was Priceless.

LMAO.  How do you get that tank inside your house?  Smallest dimension is 4' so you need a wide door.  Next smallest is 7' so it needs a taller than normal door too.  Or you can just knock a wall out.  LOL

I haven't bought it yet.  Still working on the room.  I just ordered all the 10gal to 50gal tanks for the room.  I have a couple 120's and a 240 that I'll be using in the room.  Then I need to order the 500 and look for a 180 and a 150 (6'x2' footprint) on the used market as I'm too cheap to pay for new ones of those.

I'm probably going to order the tank from Aquatica, a store outside of Cleveland.  I'm driving through Cleveland in a couple weeks so I figured I would stop in then and try to work out the details.
