It was my understanding that bidding in terms of dollars was high.  The clubs dollars per bag for the last 2 auctions has been much higher than normal.
I used to be a people person... but people ruined that for me.

The way I saw it the number of bids was down but the bucks were higher
Seem like everyone was going for a home run jumping bids by 5 to 10 dollars at a crack
I think they were trying to scare off any comp.
Sometimes it worked.
Also people were going in at the opening bid knowing that it was going to be there anyway.
By not having the auctioneers have to go back to a buck a bag really saves time.
Believe me there was alot of opportunity to spend money as my lighter wallet can attest

What were the "hot" sellers? Sometimes it blows my mind when people are spending huge money on fish that normally go for a quarter of the price. (Some years it's electric yellows, angels, etc.)

Was this the only big auction for the year or is there going to be another one?

There was a breeder sitting next to me who who kept jumping the prices on fish. He paid out the nose on a handful of bags, just because he really wanted them in his breeder stock. He figured he'd get nice return. I believe him based on the number of Compressiceps and such that he bought.

Comps and Calvus are his favorite.

Hey Jim you might want to start making plans now to make it to the January auction.

Or change your name to the great and powerful OZ. You know, we can hear you blowing smoke but no one has ever seen you.  ::)  LOL.
