World Series~Game-By-Game

GAME 1

Ugggh....anyone else watching this painful first game?
Verlander was flat.
Our hitters haven't gotten going (as of the end of the 7th inning).
I can't believe Leland put in that loser Valverde!!!
The Giants are playing great...across the board.
It will probably be said the lay over was too long for the Tigers...I actually believe that this time around.

Yes Tony I am suffering through it as well. Long lay over, long trip out west, and I think we have been patient with Valverde long enough.
That being said, the giants are playing and pitching very well in game one.

Yeah I'm suffering through it. I've been a die hard Tiger fan my whole life so I've suffered through worse (2003 season comes to mind ;)) Every once in awhile a team will have a game such as this one where nothing they do works and everything goes the other teams way. That's how this first game has went all night. Verlander's talent is by far the best in the entire MLB in my opinion. BUT he does have one weakness and that is he tends to have a bad outing when he is under huge pressure at the beginning of a big series like this (or like the All Star game). The only good thing to come out of this game is that they get all this bad playing out of their system now and focus on winning tomorrow night.

I never have liked Valverde and I think the team covered his saves more than anything in last seasons big "perfect season" for him. But I understand why they put him in tonight. Basically the game was already lost so bring him in to see if the "work" Jones and he did had any effect over the last week or two on his pitching. And I think it did have an effect....he got worse! :-X

Never fear though....Of the four World Series titles the Tiger have won, three of them started off with losing game 1.

I had to stop watching after Valverde. I honestly felt sorry for him though. Must suck to be hated so much.

I apologize.  ::)

I never watch baseball. I turned on the game and it was 1-0. Within minutes of me watching it was 3-0. I go downstairs and come back up, now it's 4-0, all within minutes of me turning it on. I'll probably make it a point to not watch tonight.  ;)

A ball bunted down the 3rd base line usually has a bit of CCW spin to it so 9 times out of 10 when it is that close to the line and still rolling it usually will roll foul. But in the world series that late in the game you should have at least taken the sure out at first base in such a tight game.

The way we have been playing so far in these first 2 games is simply shameful. Terrible at bats taking fast balls right down the center, swinging at balls WAY low and away. We wont be winning anything if they don't get their act together quickly.

I am starting to worry that the broom we used on the Stankees was left unattended and the Giants found it.

Mr. Triple Crown needs a cool nick name Like Kungfu Panda has..lol. They will get things turned around and make a series out of it.
What scares me is the giants bull pin middle relief. :(

I don't think they will sweep us, but winning the WS is not looking very good. I feel bad for Fister, the poor kid has pitched three gems of games far as his end of the deal goes...yet does not have a win for any of the three great outings he has had. The offense needs to line up and apologize to that kid.
