Awesome tank. I want to do that exact thing one day. Hopefully I can. You should take a video and put it on youtube so we can all check out the action.

As for getting more fish, you should check out the auction on Oct. 22nd. You may even be able to work out a deal with someone beforehand and meet there for the fish. There sometimes are great deals to be had there. Link for the auction info is below:

Heres my video, but it was taken before I added more rock. It's kinda dark, doesn't show their colors well. I need to play with the camera and see if I can adjust it at all. Bought it a few yrs back and have hardly used it.

Your tank is beautiful, a gorgeous addition to a very nice room.

You mentioned you feed platy fry to the cichlids. You probably know that you have some Mbuna mixed in your tank and they are primarily herbivorous fish. If you add more Mbuna for additional color you'll have to go very light on feeding protein and only do so as an occasional treat.

Thanks Pauline
Yeah they dont get too many platy. Maybe a dozen or so a week for 53 fish.

What type of lighting do you have? The colors seem to pop on your fish. I need to order new bulbs for my 300 gallon and I'm caught between 50/50 blue/white or all blue. Any thoughts?

I LOVE that table under the tank.  Does it have a slate top?  It's gorgeous.

My husband made the table. Its a dogwood stump with a huge burl, with a slate top. He has done some really cool tables.

Does he make them to sell. Looks like a great plant stand.

Not like that one, and that is mine! Its actually desk size and was used as a desk for a long time.
He has sold a few smaller ones, and some with wood tops, but he doesn't do them anymore.

gorgeous tank Deb!  Not surprising since all of your tanks have been amazing.
If you want color I would go with what has been suggested, some nice yellow labs (get a good really yellow strain) and you can add some demasoni (at least 15 or so) or cyaneohabdos, and some nice cherry red zebras.  Lots of active color to go with your haps.
