you shot that with your phone??!! Nice!!
Love the Vieja synspilum. Where did you ever find one that size? Makes me miss my Oscars...
Right now in SE there seems to be a lot of synspilums about that size big and bigger I picked up two from fins one that size and one much larger, they still have a large one there. At the place on 5 and middle belt they have 4 or 5 and a month or so ago they had like 20. also cichlid world had quiet a few slightly smaller then that.
"@Ron--that Aro is about 17 to 18 inches give or take. I tried to measure him as best I could but that's a strong and awkward fish to transport. The clowns have lived up to their name, fun to watch and oddly enough they are helping keep the cichlids in line.(By accident)Everyone is afraid of them for some reason. I think their odd swimming behavior and/or their sharp fins is holding everyone at bay. They are huge."
The reason clown loaches can keep everyone inline is because they are incredibly muscular, they come from areas with very strong currents and if they wanted to could easily take on much larger cichlids. Thats why you can basically put them in with anything as they are very peaceful but very strong. When I had a small group in with my SA the loaches would literary just be digging in the sand while the other MUCH larger fish took runs at them and they wouldn't care at all and wouldn't end up with a scratch. I only have one left as they are virtually impossible to breed in a home aquarium Ive lost interest.
Nice tank!
