MCA Meeting at the Oyer's~So What Did Everyone get?
« on: September 14, 2012, 11:42:55 PM »
So personally, I had a GREAT TIME!!!....even better than last year, and John and Betty actually put me to work catching and bagging from the minute we arrived!!!
It was nice seeing Betty and John and many of the usual suspects plus meeting a few new members.
I know I caught and bagged a lot of fish myself let alone what John and Betty caught so I lost track, so my question is..."What did everyone get?
I personally went home with a dozen F-1 Nimbochromis linni that are not the easiest fish to come by, let alone offspring from wild caught parents.

Glad to meet you all!

It was nice to see so many familiar faces and meet some new ones. Like usual, John and Betty were wonderful hosts and it was a really nice evening.

For the most part I stocked up on some food since my tanks are pretty full, but I did find space to bring home some N. linni as well, recognizing the uniqueness of the opportunity to find some of particularly nice quality. I'd gotten some previously, but nearly all turned out to be males, so hopefully I'll have some females this time around to go with a bigger male I've got.

I didn't get a damn thing.  I had every intention on going,  had the girls all geeked up to go&  everything.
Then my neighbor decided to start screaming obscenities at my other neighbor, with my 5 yr old right in-between them.
Needless to say- after things calmed down&  the police left.... It was too late.  :(

It was nice to meet more people and have discussions with Grizz and Jeffro.  I came home with 8 Mloto Likoma(gentle genus), 8 white labs, and 5 Red Top Hongi.  Any advise on mixing Copadichromis Mloto Likoma and Auloncara Ngara?  Does any one think the color would be a factor in aggresion?

No problem as long as the tank is big enough.

I didn't see any. In the past they've sometimes had a few varieties, though angels are the only ones I can think of off hand. They're focused mainly on africans from all lakes and the typical catfish you'd find kept with africans (various Synos, various bristlenose, etc).

Did you type that on a phone? It's hard to figure out exactly how you meant to construct that sentence. It's not a public business, it's their private home.

I picked up 4 Neolamprologus leleupi, 7 Fossorochromis rostratus, and 5 Synodontis petricola.  Great time and conversation.  Thanks to John and Betty for opening up their home.

that would explain why they were free.  There was a recent flooding of Cutteri earlier this year.
Don't get me wrong,  they are nice fish

I think someone, maybe Manuel Luna, brought them to John and John gave them away.
