electric yellows
« on: July 11, 2012, 08:59:36 AM »
I have some electric yellows that I have growing up in my 90 gallon.  Some of these fish are about 2" long.  On the anal fin they have one egg spot. Has any one seen this before?  When I get time I will post close up pics.

Have only seen it on saulosi. My males have all had one spot, females none. Helped in sexing young fish.

I've seen that a number of times in the past. Anything more than a single spot would make me suspect though.

I've also never seen a female L. caeruleus with an egg spot. It's only ever been males.
