First thing that comes to mind is ConvictX Freddy

There's definitely Parachromis coloration from the gills back, but the head/face is too short&  the tear markings are absent.
Another thing is the females dorsal blotch,  Parachromis don't usually have that.

Can you get some better full side shots?  Maybe a video?

They do sort of look like elongated convicts, but could be stressed from moving?

I'm curious as to where they came from, that could give some clues

I can see the convict in them i think... I have had them for a few years now. Bought a few of them at 2 to 3in size and traded in the rest once i had a pair. The store i bought them from is no longer in business. Aquatics gardens is the place i traded the others to, the guy that worked there at the time thought they where festaes, but the male looks like he has parachromis traits. Anyways i am trying to downsize and open up some tanks. Now that i know they are crosses, i will trade them.

Put them up on MFK

There'll be interest there, as they have a big hybrid memberbase

If I had to put money on it, I'd say they were Convict hybrids as well.
600 Gallons of Central & South American Cichlids.
