Hi, this kind...

Malawi Eyebiter, Dimidiochromis compressiceps Cichlid

Hoping the females make it they are breathing heavy too, I guess they were in the bag too long.  Kind of bummed out over the male...

Sorry to hear you lost your male dimi comp male mate, that sucks...auctions are often long days...most peeps don't bag with pure O2 which is necessary for time frames >3-4 hours.

Yes I was totally bummed out I never had that happen before.  I can't blame anyone because it was right at the end of the auction.  The bummer is it was a breeding trio and the male was looking really good.
I'm tring to replace it,  I might have to wait til another auction but there not super common.
Thanks for your reply.

I thought the MCA was supposed to inspect and ensure that everything was bagged properly.

We do.  Things happen that are out of our control.

Yeah like I mentioned before, it was at the end of the auction.  The person who sold it acutally had it bagged really well.  Maybe he/she bagged them very early in the morning.  But Again I can't blame anyone...it just kind of sucks to lose such a nice fish, and of course it had to be the male and not one of the females..

When I used to attend auctions in Australia I would take 5gal of aged water, several buckets with lids, and a battery air pump, lines and stones. Fish handle the slightly cooler water temporarily better than the ammonia bath in low oxygen conditions

A couple days without food helps too.
