Thanks everyone. I do need to look at options. My fear is though since my walls are not really insulated, I am wondering how much of the heat I would lose. Have some thinking to do after this mishap.

Have some thinking to do avfter this mishap.Josh, it's good to consider your options but even if you do nothing to the room to increase insulation, you an still compare your current energy consumption with in-tank heaters vs. a room heater or gas furnace. Natural gas is considerably cheaper than electricity BTU per BTU, especially in the case of in-tank heaters in my experience. The ventless gas heaters available on the market today put all the heat generated into the room. The heat loss from the room will be the same whether you're heating to a specific temperature with a central room heater or the combination of in-tank heaters you have today. If you were to add insulation, you'll retain more of the heat generated. I plan to attend the MCAS auction on November 9th. If you are there, I'd be more than happy to share my experiences with you.
