FWIW, I thought Youtube already has a button you can click to get code to "embed" a video into a post provided that the site doesn't prohibit/enables embedding. I'm not sure if we can do that here because I haven't tried it, but I suspect it would work.

If it did work, anyone could upload their video to Youtube and then share it here in a post that way.

P.S. Not sure if this will help or if there's a better way out there but I found this link to SMF mod for youtube video link capabilities.
