Scheduling Auction Dates
« on: October 19, 2017, 10:51:40 PM »
One thing I would really like to see MCA do is to set the spring and fall auction dates to be at least two weeks apart from the Motor city auction (MCAS)and the Grand Valley Aquarium Club (GVAC) auction.  This fall, the MCA and GVAC auctions are on the same exact day and the MCAS is only one week later.
For heavens sake, spread these auction dates out a little more!

We set our dates years in advance & have to choose from the dates that are available.

So you guys should make an effort to work with the other clubs, scheduling a year in advance shouldn't matter.
It was kind of a bummer for me the way 3 auctions fell on 2 weekends.

Feast or famine with the auctions is not a good thing

It is not that easy.  We all use halls and most times we have to take what is avail or their will be no auction.  Especially when the hall books up years in advance.

As Josh said, it’s not like these halls have all these dates available.

Two years ago, this was the only date available.  Additionally, while it is nice to be able to coordinate with the local clubs (which we have attempted to do) there are only a limited amount of people willing to drive across the state for an auction.

Ok makes sense, especially since you us the same halls. So for this year the assumption would be that back to back dates were all that was available.
Thanks that helped
