collection point question

So I have kept acei for a couple of year and my preference is the Pseudotropheus acei ngara or white tail acei. However I have noticed in the more recent batch I purchased and grew out that there is a big distinction between my two males. The one in the back is similar to most of the white tail acei I have kept being a deep royal blue tone however this other male I bought in a trio is much more blue and actually kind of striped. Now would this just be a collection point thing and I have mixed two diff kinds or could the one acei be a "mixed" acei being multiple collection points rolled together? It's likely not a dominance thing as my kenyi runs the tank but maybe it could be an inner acei hierarchy? The back male was kept on his own before and didn't have the blue the front one has but again there are 100 diff factors. Anyways just wanted to know people's opinions, cheers

I have a pair of these in a customer's tank...I grew them from 1"...my male looks like the 1 in the foreground and my female very much like the one in the background...are you sure the one in rear of shot is male? I will see if I have a pic to compare...
Addendum; I no longer have the pic of my pair that I took on my phone....

No worries - thanks Danotaylor. I know the one in the back is a male for sure though because he has mated with one of the female previously before I put the one in the foreground with him. However even before then he was only coloured up the way you see him in picture (maybe slightly more blue but not to the degree of the other). I was just curious if a collection point can vary that much or not?
