When I was breeding this fish about 15 years ago they would do the same thing.It was like multiple females would develop eggs a day or two apart each month .My guess is that the hormones released would get everyone going once one male/female started to spawn.
You should definitely be flush with offspring then Are you keeping them in one large group or two separate groups?IMHO, there's pros and cons to both, but a really large shoal of them make a great display.
