Snails/Jack Dempsey's

So I have not had a snail issue in about 3-4 years. Then all of a sudden about 3-4 months ago or so my Daughter picked a couple out of a random tank in the basement. Anyway. That tank is now infested with them. All tiny ones. Anyway, I was reading about Jack Dempsey's and on the Wikipedia it says they eat "crustations". Has anyone ever put snails into there tank for there Dempsey's to eat? My concern obviously is that my nice Jack Dempsey tank will get infested also.... Suggestions/Help....

Yes, the tank will also most likely become infested, especially if you're talking MTS.

Snails are actually mollusks. You best bet for finding a fish that will seek them out and consume them would be loaches. I've used clown loaches with good results myself.

Crustaceans are shrimps, crabs, lobsters, etc.
