Bought a house... Building a fish room!!
« on: May 02, 2015, 12:00:43 PM »
As some of you know (and now all of you know!)... Jpd1821 and I have bought a house!!  ;D
With a basement with plenty of space for a fish room!!

Over the last week we've had the electrical all sorted out and plenty of outlets installed right where they're needed, walls have been framed and covered in green board. (The rest will be a work in progress)

New stands have been/being built, some being repurposed, while others will be eliminated. (Anyone looking to buy double metal stands for 29g/20L?)

Still have yet to start the move of the handful of currently running tanks!! (Gonna be a pain moving the 6 footer...any volunteers to help?)  ;) Then it'll be a slower process to put up, fill up and then stock the remaining half room of empty tanks! Haha

When it's all done we will have a 140 sq ft room, housing approx 24 tanks.. Mostly 20L and 40B, as we are both very into different species of fish! There will be plenty of room to add more in the future but not much, probably another larger tank or 2 (75+G).

Pics will come in time. Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone!!  ;D

Congrats on the house. If you are willing to donate one of those 20L stands I believe you can get info from Vic.
There is someone trying to put together a set up for a YMCA to get the younger crowd interested in the hobby.

Congratulations April and Jeremy...i am afraid that there is no such thing as "plenty of space for a fishroom"....lol..sure 24 or so tanks this month ; but after that you will be looking to start digging so you can add more and more tanks.......
the very best to you kids...enjoy your new home...

Thank you!
Do you know how I could contact him Tony?? I'm sure a donation could be arranged, I'll have 3 of them at the moment to part with once things are moved.

Very cool! Looking forward to seeing pics or getting a fish room tour invite! ;)

What kind of fish are you going to be stocking in some of you tanks?

If you want to drive all the way to Saginaw, feel free to stop by! Haha

I've gotten mostly into Tangs this past year, slowly introducing cichlids to the bf. He keeps mostly corys and shrimp. It'll be a nice variety. I love my catfish and I've got a few different kinds of bristle nose plecos.
We are both big into live plants too. So a few tanks will be designated just for them!
