110 gal. hap and peacock
« on: March 23, 2015, 09:14:49 PM »
This is my plunge back into fishkeeping.  The tank is a 6 foot by 18 inch footprint.  Substrate is pea gravel with river rock for the pile.  Lighting is a 48 inch Aqueon led fixture running white daylight lamps for now.

Looks nice!

How soon before fish are added?

What is the filtration?

The first group of fish is in and having a ball swimming the length of the tank.  Filtration is 3 Whisper 60s for now.  I may switch to canisters or add a canister as the bio load increases.

Looks cool Duwayne. One recommendation though....be diligent in keeping uneaten food and any fish that happen to die cleared out from the rock piles. You can have a tank crash horribly if this goes unchecked.

Oh, I definitely do.  This is nearly the same setup that I had in my 100 long a couple years ago.  I break the rock pile down monthly and clean under it.

I just added a colormax lamp into the light fixture.  I like the brightness of The tank now.

I like that the length of the light is less than the tank. Makes the whole thing look bigger IMO since it doesn't highlight the ends.  8)

Thanks for the kind comments.  I just added 2 more groups to the tank and the activity level is incredible.
