Tank day dreaming
« on: March 17, 2015, 05:00:51 PM »
So, day dreaming about fish tanks the other day…

I would love to set up one wall of my basement with 6ft tanks.  A rack of 150 gallon tanks, two tanks tall and three tanks wide.

All drilled in the back to use a central filter system.  At least 150 gallon sump system.

There would be three holes drilled in the back.  One at either side of the tank for the filter drains and then one more 2/3 of the way down the tank to open up for water changes.

Water lines run to each tank for filling.

I know the draw backs of the central filter system, but the convenience seems to outweigh those draw backs to me.

Thoughts?

You'll need a bigger sump your looking at 900 gallons of water so get a 300 gallon stock tank

I agree after I added up the numbers.  Could tuck it out of the way.

Thinking of using a hot water tank to heat the water.  Just dont know if you can turn them down that low.  I could always adjust the flow to adjust the temp.  Even use our current hot water tank.
