Hot Glue?

Has anyone ever used hot glue to fix/build anything for inside there tank? The question being, is it toxic at all, or would it be safe? ??? Thanks

Yep.  Hot glue.  Super glue.  220 / 221 whatever it takes.

Probably is toxic.  I didn't have any noticeable problems though.  Let it cure and set for a couple days before putting it in the tank.

Thank you Jeffro.. Im thinkin its gonna be cheaper for some of my projects than silicone. Especially since i have a bunch of it here already. ;) ;)

When cyanoacrylate hardens it is completely non-toxic to your tank, and will not breakdown into harmful chemicals in that environment. It has been used for years in the salt water industry for frag propagation and is the go to material of choice for many salt water hobbiests. I would suggest using it over hot glue for any projects that your working on. If you need more working time, you might want to consider finding a marine safe 5 minute epoxy that would give you the working time you might need. Just my $0.02 on this topic.

Most hot melt glues will deteriorate under water.
Gorilla glue, after it cures, is inert.

If there is a gill roys near you they sell a 5 min epoxy for like 2 bucks and is aquarium safe.
