Fish breathing hard

Moved him into a 10g to treat him last night. Started some Prazipro about 9pm last night and this morning he is already breathing much better. Going to keep him in there for the next few days to give him a 2nd dose of Prazipro in 3 days but I think he seems to be on the mend.

I've come to the conclusion this fish is just plain weird. He was not breathing hard in the isolation tank, yet I put him back in the show tank and he starts breathing hard again. Normally I would say that would be an indication of aggression but I can say with 100% certainty that is not an issue in this tank. The peacock tank has zero aggression at all in it and it's been pretty much the same fish in that tank for well over a year now. I don't get it

Lost him today. Sucks because he was a great looking blue ahli. Still don;t know what was wrong with him. I'm actually wondering if maybe he just wasn't at the end of his life because I bought him full size so no idea how old he was. He stopped eating a week or more ago and died today.

I've had this happen before with older fish FWIW. IME, in the range of 7-8 years old haps start going downhill. Sorry to hear you lost him.
