I agree with Mastiffman.  Only a couple of my adult male Ilangi group have any red spots on their anal fins and only a couple dots each.  I also have Moliros and none of them have red dots on their anal fins.  It is possible that the fish in the photo is another "red" variety of T. moorii, however.

Well it's not really so much the dots as it is the super nright red of SP. Red Tropheus that gives it away as being different.

There are so many "Ilangi" sold as what Ilangi should be which should have a yellow (max maybe slightly orange tint to the yellow) flank (i.e. sunspot when high contrast displaying), red-ish orange dorsal, jade green upper dorsum and a  burgundy/ plum head.... When in fact they are more of either a Chilanga or mix of a Chilanga and Ilangi being so close to one another. Very orange and sometimes red looking

Best thing to do is get a couple of different groups of fry and raise them out. Then separate and sell the ones that are more of Chilanga, or mixed looking Ilangi and then swap males from the groups. This way you're not getting siblings spawning with each other and you are stating to set it traits. Might have to watch the fist batch to see how well they produce as far as a consistent coloration and go from there. Might need one more outcross to lock in those genes.

Andrew I did get them from Tony.  They change colors so much. When I get a minute I will post a pic of the group. Same group I posted video of on You Tube.

That one in middle looks appropriate. But I'm seeing a lot of orange in the others. Some red as well.
