Heater question
« on: April 02, 2014, 09:39:20 AM »
I have a heater, aqueon submersible, and it sounds like it's ticking? The temp has maintained,no fluctuation. My question, is this a sign of failure?

I've heard a click before sometimes when it's kicking on or off.  But it should not be ticking or clicking constantly.

Any chance you're using a timer for your lights?  I had one that made a lot of noise and others that are quieter.

As the others have said... many will click when the heater turns on and off.

If its clicking more than that.... replace it.

Take it from someone that has had a real bad run on heaters lately... the losses can be devastating.
