Anyone watch tanked?
« on: March 15, 2014, 12:15:45 AM »
I happened to catch a couple episodes of this show and saw a few elaborate tanks they made.  I was entertained by the show.  Kinda made me want to put together a salt water tank.  Also saw them make an awesome cichlid tank shaped like an old whiskey barrel.  The saltwater fish I saw in the few episodes looked amazing the cichlids they got looked average to me.  Just wondering if anyone has seen this show and their opinions?

I watch it every week. They make awesome tanks, makes me want saltwater. As far as freshwater goes though, the tanks are still cool, but the fish don't look as nice as their saltwater

Yep I watch Tanked as well as Fish Tank Kings on Natgeo. I like tanked but they need to either stick with saltwater tanks or learn a bit more about some of the cichlid species they use on some of the tanks because seeing some of the species they had together in some of the cichlid tanks they did makes me think their freshwater knowledge is not on track with their saltwater knowledge.

Because I can't remember which "tank" it was (maybe that refrigerator one perhaps?) but they had bunches of Male OB's in it, Red Zebras, and a few other aggressive Mbuna mixed in with a bunch of peacocks :o  I'd like to see an update on that one and see how many fish are left, or how many ended up with one eye and missing fins.

Don't get me wrong I do like the show and never miss it. I guess you just start noticing things like I mentioned when you hang out at places like this forum so much  ;D

BTW I also wish they would stop trying to "Stage" so much on there last season. It's so blatant how many things they staged last year it actually takes away from the show a bit when they do that imo.

Losing interest.  To much staged stuff and product placement.  Rather see more tanks and building, but it turns into a bunch of other crap.

I lost interest two seasons ago for the same reasons,  plus a couple more.

So true, the show was good in the beginning but then got too "staged" as you say.  Started to watch Fish Tank Kings but Francis drives me crazy...less of Francis and more tank builds....

Hmmm, I have a backlog of like 12 episodes on DVR. Sounds like they're headed downhill.  :(

I was watching it at one point but then kinda fell of the wagon and haven't seen it for awhile. Did any of you see an Ebay sale of one of their tanks by a customer? Very interesting as it gave a perspective of what it costs for the build, etc.

Yea. Thier phone booth tank was on eBay. Show is less of an interest to me. Too much talking. Less showing of build ect.

The tank I saw on EBay was one of the early episodes in which the couple was using a ladder just to feed the fish. They returned and built in a food feeder so they could eliminate the use of the ladder. Forget the price tag but the cost was insane.

Wasn't the phone booth the one they added the dead angel to?

Like the show but their skits and stunts to make things "funnier" ruin it.

I did see their huge treasure chect tank at the Detroit Children's Hospital.  that was pretty cool.
