Tank resealing

Hey guys,  my 72 gal.  Bowfront blew a seal last week and was wondering if anyone knew of somebody who does repairs,  and possibly warranties or guarantees their work.  Thanks for the info

It looks like my 125 now has a leak of a drop every 20 minutes or so.  The leak is showing up beneath the front of the tank, and I currently don't know the source.

Could this type of leak possibly be repaired without emptying the tank?  I assume no, but wanted to double-check to see if it's worth a try.

If not, then it looks like I'll link up with Blair to get the repair guys contact info.

i have made a number of underwater repairs...a little tricky to do but not too hard...
clear the front seam well..make sure there is no sand around it..cut a strip of visqueen the length of the tank and 2" wide.
run a heavy bead of silicone the length of the strip..you will need help to lay the strip in place...then run your finger to spread and smooth the silicone...make sure it completely covers the old silicone.....leave the visqueen on and let it set for a couple of days.....then peel it a little..if the silicone is still uncured leave it for a few more days until you can peel it away cleanly..

Now I have to find out where the leak is coming from.  I noticed when I was changing the water this morning the leak stopped.  But when the water level went back to the top it started again.  So I assume it's somewhere in the top half of the tank.  I was hoping I just had the water too high (as in above the glass a little, but below the top of the plastic frame), but the water is about 3/4" below the glass.

It sounds like this will be a long-term adventure.

Is the center braces intact on your tank

Yes it currently is.  It was broken at one time, though, and I fixed it a year ago.  So maybe the stress from having it broken for a while could have caused a leak?

Yup. Plus his quick fix he posted is just a bandaid to a problem.
