Obviously a lot of people will buy this. The hype will get more people to buy it. Eventually I would think there will be a breaking point where people will realize WTH(?), and the price will fall.
So, admittedly, I'm one of those who just doesn't "get it"....
What is the big deal? Are you actually influenced to purchase things because of facebook? If not, how the heck do they keep making money? Aren't they advertiser driven at this point? Seems to me like a "flash in the pan", kind of like "MySpace", though somebody will be making some money and some will lose even if it is.
And I don't "get it" on multiple levels. I don't get buying the stock, but I also don't get why you'd want to spend a lot of time on there looking at what other people are doing? Why don't you go do something yourself instead? Isn't that more productive?
All that said, I am on it and have been for many years. I blame it on my personality, but perhaps someone can explain some of the questions I posed above and help explain the reasoning?
