Paint...
« on: January 29, 2012, 08:28:15 PM »
So today i finally broke down and bought some paint to do the backs of a few tanks to see how it turns out. I bought the color True Blue. I will probly post a pic or two after im done if im satisfied with how it looks. I was gonna try to get really creative and try to paint rocks on the back... But for now im gonna just stick with the solid blue. ??? ??? Im not really much of an artist.
No longer fishroom, I have a FISH BASEMENT!!!

Should look good. Will probably brighten up the tanks a bit.

Ski, I paint the back of all my tanks.  I like black but the other day I was thinking it is time for a new color.  Maybe blue.  I can't wait to see pics of your artwork.

Have used both blue and black paint for the backs of tanks.  The black seems to showcase the fishes' colors more vividly, but will also show any tiny debris in the water or on the glass.  The blue seems to be better for general use.

I've had tanks with black, blue, and sky blue. The black is my favorite - looks best in all situations IMO.

The blue just looks unrealistic IMO, unless you're trying to recreate an "open water" biotype. I've seen some shades of green that I think would look better than blue for creating a more realistic looking display.

Ron I have some green paint that I like.  I should try it out on my tank.
