Steve, It really stinks when you lose fish unexpectedly.  Nonfish people don't understand when we get attached.  You are pretty attentive to your tanks, so you will figure it out. 

I would recommend decontaminating your nets and water changer.  Use a mild bleach solution.  Then rinse well to get rid of the chlorine.

Steve, I think you will have less issues when you get them into that big tank.  Keeping those fish in small tanks may stress them out even if you do all the right things.

I'm gonna try to kick the "up & runnin" time for the 265 into high gear now. All that is left is the plumb the filters and order 5 liters of media for them so I am going to try to get the media ordered this weekend and hopefully then I can have the tank running and seeded/cycled by Jan 18th. That way when I pick up all the new fish from guys that I'm meeting at the auction I can move the current fish I am holding right now into the big tank, put the new fish from the auction pick ups into the quarantine tanks for 21 day and hopefully put all these previous issues behind me.
