Hi everyone, I recently found this forum via the forum at greatlakesaquaria.com (which I also just recently joined). For simplicity's sake here is roughly the same tank info rundown I posted over there:
I keep freshwater planted aquariums, now for something like, 15 years?... have had up to 9 tanks going at a time in the past but currently only have a pair of 30 gals going because I just don't have time to maintain any more than that at the moment.
I've got one tank of shrimp and nano-fishes: pygmy cories, rasbora maculata, celestial pearl danio, danio erythromicron and some other randoms. Up until recently I was breeding the maculatas and the cpds pretty successfully so if anyone has any questions about that hit me up.
My other tank is home to my 10 year old polypterus senegalus who is fat and lazy and awesome. She graciously allows some blue angelfish to inhabit the top half of her tank. Very decent of her.
Oh, and the nano-fishes tank is a fully planted dirt tank with a bed of Mineralized Top Soil so if anyone has questions about that I am happy to answer.
The other tank is just low light, sand bottom with java fern on driftwood. Because it works.
Additionally I have kept the following cichlids over the years: Angelfish, German Blue Rams and Jack Dempseys. I'm kiiiiiinda toying with the idea of getting into Julidochromis sometime in the next year but that's just kind of an idea at this point.
Anyway, nice to be here, this seems like a lovely forum
