starting a blog/web site

I know many of you are smarter then me, so I figured I could ask for some advise

How do you go about starting a blog/website that I can use as a way to speak to people and allow others to talk kinda like a forum but on a more deeper level

As many of you know I have gone thru a ruff batch since  2002, I got married (best thing that god ever did to me) had 4 kids, lost my nephew to a drunk driver 5 weeks after my wedding, lost many jobs due to the economy, finally got on a good track and had my accident that started the whirlwind I now call life

Anyways I have hours and hours of things to share,tell,and offer

I find myself a very upbeat and positive person, but there are dark days and then are days where I just ask my self why?

I want to be able to share my story and let people know no matter how bad it gets,Never Give Up!!

This is why i am asking for advise on how to start a blog.chat/forum, so it will allow me to do use my misfortunes and turn a positive spin on others lives.

I sit at home all day trying to think of ways to help my family get further ahead and to help others in the process and I thought this might be a good idea

Wordpress is great for a blog.   Tri-Fisher runs a great blog.  If you just want to BS with friends in bulk then start a FB page.  You could also buy a domain name, software, hosting then pour hours of your life into it and start a site.  Id help you any which way you want to go.

Blogspot.com is another one you could check out. I've never used it personally.

as for a FB page that's just another endless road where it is a never ending circle and it gets over bearing and stupid at times, ask blair what I post of FB LOL

I want to start something like Marty mentioned as in woodpress.com, but I want to be able to allow people to use the blog as a way to reach out and speak to others kind like we do here on mca and gla but use my "story" as he grounds for the blog

Its kinda like being a motivational speaker but using the internet and a blog to get the word out, and see where it goes from there. People who have met me know that I am not short of words LOL and I want to share/help others who are afraid to talk or speak on there own

It might take me a few weeks or a few months but I have been  thinking about this from some time, and after talking to you the other day it really opened my eyes to the big picture:)
