2 years smoke free
« on: April 08, 2013, 03:54:08 PM »
I had to share this because I never thought I would be able to say it. This coming weekend will mark exactly 2 years since I finally gave up smoking for good. Was a long hard road after being a pack & a half a day smoker but by far the best decision I ever made for myself in my entire life! Between quitting smoking 2 years ago, and losing 151 lbs last year, I may actually add a fee extra years of fishing times onto my life ;D

Good job on them both.  Never smoked myself... but I can understand the weight loss.

Congrats Steve.  I know it is hard, I quit smoking when I got out of the Marines in 1998.  Gets easier with time.

Gets easier with time.

If you ever get the urge to light up, go find a dirty ashtray and tell yourself instead of lighting up I am going to lick the dirty ashtray. Like I said I have never looked back, its a mind gameandyou just have to be stronger

Steve, that's great news.  Keep up the good work.  I've never smoked but my dad did 2 1/2 packs a day until he had his first heart attack at age 40.  He later passed away at age 48.  I learned how much breaking the habit/additiction is a mind-over-matter situation.  Stick with it, man.
