For the MCA June 7th meeting the main event will be a DIY contest.
Entries - All members can submit one entry each. (If you aren't a member yet you can join at the meeting for free). An entries can consist of anything used in the hobby that is hand made by the person submitting the entry.
Each person will have 5 to 10 minutes to give a brief step by step explanation on how it is built, costs of materials, time required, and benefits of use. There is no cost to submit an entry. If you have more than 1 DIY project that you would like to display we would love to see them time permitting, however you can only have 1 as an official entry that can be voted on for prizes.
Voting - All attendees will vote for a 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place contestant. Each 1st place vote will be worth 15 points, 2nd place vote will be 10 points, and 3rd place vote will be 5 points. All points will be added up for each contestant. The highest total of points wins 1st place, 2nd highest wins second, 3rd highest wins third. Attendees will be asked to consider ease of construction, costs (both time and money), and benefits as they cast their votes.
Prizes - Exact prizes are TBD but will be very substantial for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. I will announce them as they are finalized.
All participants will be issued a Golden Fin!
Entries can be very simple or very elaborate. I personally hope for a number of worthy simple entries that I can learn how to duplicate.
