One of my pet peeves has been the very low quality of Red Zebras (Psuedotropeus Zebra Red) and Yellow Labs (Labidochromis Caeruleus) going around in the hobby the past few years.  A year or 2 ago I actually saw 'Pink' Zebras being labeled as something new to the hobby.  They where just a really crappy strain of Red Zebras.  Yellow Labs a couple years ago would all have black marks on their body and very light coloring.

I can't say I saw ANY of this at today's auction.  And I am very happy! While these are very common fish it doesn't mean that they have to be low quality.  It was nice to see some breeders taking pride in those fish and culling out undesirables from their breeding groups.

With the electric yellows, you have to take barring with a grain of salt with the juveniles.  I received some f1's from Old World not too long ago, and they had barring.  I spoke with Laif about it, and he indicated that the bars would disappear as they got bigger.  Sure enough, the bars went away.

I have 5 zebras in my Mbuna tank, some are bright orange, one is bright yellow (mixed with a lab) and the other 2 are the light pink color. Maybe it's just me but I actually like having a couple of the light pink ones myself. I think it adds some nice contrast with the rest of the colors in the tank.

a few of those bags of electric yellow were mine.  I am not a fan of bars, mustaches and beards on the Elec Yellow.

Who would think that a bag of 4 Cherry Red Zebras would fetch $41?  They were nice, but wow

I ended up bringing 13 Yellow Labs home.  The majority (11) were labeled as Electric Yellows which I usually don't like to call them. But, these are soo vibrant & an awesome gold to them.
 I made sure to PM the breeder & let him know that IMO he is the Bobby Bouchae of Electric Yellows.  Thanks again Ron for putting the high quality in my H20.

I agree on the yellow labs.  A few years back, it was difficult to find nice ones.  I picked up a group yesterday from Ron and they look very nice.  Thanks Ron.

In fact if anyone bought those Cherry's and can send me the breeders name I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Pretty sure the cherry's your talking about where brought by John Oyer.  However I doubt he bred them himself as I can't recall ever seeing a Mbuna breeding group in his house.  More likely he bought or traded for a few hundred of them.  He probably still has a number of them.
