one last note, I did meet Brian the owner and he was really nice and helped me pull off a big fish deal with him.  He also provided other advice, etc.  So as far as the owner he was a great help.  I do know that sometimes the employees seem cold, even hard to identify if they work there or not.

They are my main LFS and have been working with them for the last few years.  I like the store and get along with them well, but admittedly, I haven't been to many other LFS's other than the big box stores (for other than fish).  I'm hopefully going to get to learn more about some of the other stores in the Detroit/Metro area through this forum.  Especially since I have a 125 gallon tankful of Neolamprologus Brichari that I would like to reduce by about 200 fish.

All the best !!!  :)

Another one of my main LFS stops , The only advice I could give (As if I am  anyone important) Same song same dance , I think this store given location gets more drop in than the others , Change the tanks around , If we wanted a guppy ill go to a chain store , IMO the LFS is the ambassador to predatory fish large fish real tanks Salt watter Barracuda Fresh Watter Wolf EXC....
I Brew My Own Beer  20 gallons a week .

Went there today.  They had a very good selection of Africans and SA/CA, but as usual with this place, the fish had clamped fins and lots of ich.
55 gallon Central Americans
30 gallon Angels
20 gallon long fry
5 gallon fry

I see the last review of this shop was exactly one year ago, I just visited it for the first time the other day when I had to pick up some fish med so thought I would give an updated review.

I was impressed with the amount of dry goods they carry. Foods, wide selection of medications and water treatments, pond supplies, tanks and filters, very nice selection and variety of dry goods for sure. The selection of African cichlids was really pretty dismal though. They had a few tanks with some juvie y.labs and juvie ob's but outside of some SA's they really didn't have much in the way of Africans. Plus some of the community tanks had some illness for sure from what I saw.

Worth a return visit for dry goods for sure, but not worth looking for fish to buy.

I used to live in Mt. Clemens, so Oceans and Seas was one of the only places I could go to get cichlids (I thought they had a great selection before I realized that places like Fantastic Fins and the Aquarium Shop existed). I think they are good for smaller tanganyikans, and everyone is super nice there. My biggest complaint is that I have taken stray fish back there after pairing up a group more than once, and they never let me have store credit.

That's odd, I thought almost all fish stores did fish trade in.
