Thanks, I'll have to look and see next time I am there what it says on them. I think the ones I was looking at were all submerged type though (I think)....I was looking at Java Fern, Anibus, Hair Grass, and then the other one was "sword something" but can't remember for the life of me what it was exactly.

Probably amazon sword.  Those plants are all good.  Look up treating for snails etc though as plants are an easy way to get unwanted guests.  :)

I second the MIAPG site.

So should I quarantine plants the way I would fish too?

No, you can either rinse them well and visually inspect them for snails/eggs or you can use a dip for soaking them in before planting them. Be sure to rinse them if you use the soak.

Here's more info on various dip methods: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=197052

Basic options are very dilute bleach, alum, hydrogen peroxide, and I'm sure there's a few others.  Different plants will do better with different methods.

Hey Steve,
This is another Michigan based website and many of the members here/there have accounts with both sites.
The site is a dedicated planted aquarium site.
http://www.miapg.com/forums/index.php?

Well I joined that forum a few days ago now, and still have not had the Admin there "approve" my membership yet so can't post/reply/do anything there. I thumbed through the members groups and see there's still guys from back in early November that are still listed as "validating" so looks like whoever runs that site doesn't keep up with it much I'm guessing. Ahh well, too bad it looked like a decent site.

Busy time of year for most folks, but I hope you get your account approved soon.  That can be frustrating.

I'll go on there and PM the admin...is your user name the same there?
FWIW, it took awhile for my account to get approved.

I think I had to use "Steve C" there because Steve was already taken. Thanks Tony.

Okay Steve, I sent the owner of the site a PM but noticed he has been inactive for two weeks...maybe on vacation or something.
If your approval doesn't come through soon and you need to, you can send me PM's on here with your questions formatted for that site and I will copy-and-paste them into a thread over there in lieu of your approval. Then you can just look at the answers/comment/advice posted to "my" question for the membership.

Okay a member from this site was nice enough to sell me a good size 10lb CO2 tank for a very affordable price which I picked up at the auction this morning, so I now have my CO2 tank. So what else do I need for the CO2 system? From what I have researched I will need to get ...

Regulators
Bubble counter
CO2 diffuser?
Reactor?
Silicone tubing

What else am I missing because I know I'm probably missing some items? and anyone have any suggestion on what ones (brand/place) to get the above parts?
