Metriaclima sp. "Msobo"
« on: August 18, 2012, 05:59:13 PM »
Just picked up some juvies of these guys. It's looking like I have 2 males and 4 females. I'm pretty excited to see the drastic color change of the males once they start maturing.
55 gallon PS. williamsi north, elongatus chewere and syndontis petricola

40 breeder synodontis petricola with an asian twist. A pair of chinese vermillion gobies and a trio of betta splendens.

40 breeder soon to be salty fish with live rock, possibly adding some lps and soft corals after

Will do. They might not be the best pics because I'll be using my phone. Any suggestions on a third harder to find mbuna to go with the williamsi and msobo would be appreciated.

My male that is starting to color morph doesn't seem to like his pic taken but I got a group pic with four of them in it. Thinking about grabbing 4 more in hopes of pulling 2 more females

Will do. Work around the holiday season has been keeping me busy so I haven't gotten the chance to do so yet. Male hasn't done too much changing lately but still doesn't like his pic taken

I'll be looking forward to your pics too. I just picked up 5 at about 1.5 inches with no hint of color change yet. I'm hoping for a good breeding ratio. How large were yours when they began to show some change?

At that size my male started getting the bar between his eyes and the front of his dorsal fin was light blue. At around two inches he started showing hints of blue on his sides. Nothing drastic yet but I'm hoping I'll see some change within the next inch. He's already trying to woo his ladies

cool thanks! I just looked very closely at mine and 2 of the 5 have a bit of blue at the front of the dorsal.
