Yeah, the place is expensive.  It's like $45.00 per person not including drinks

There's a place in Northville like that, but for lunch they have better pricing - $25 when I went IIRC. I went as a going away lunch for a colleague, otherwise I'd probably never spend that much on lunch! I was real impressed overall. My friends who went originally thought it was great, liked it while we were there, like it afterwards, then complained the next day it was too expensive for what they got ... IMO they spent too much time at the salad bar! For a meat-lover with an appetite it's definitely worth it!

That would work if all participants felt they had a chance to "win". However, I wouldn't want it to discourage people for attending if that aren't as big eaters as the rest of us. I guess what I mean is, the fee can't be deemed "mandatory".

No I mean 200 each.  I know I  had a minimum of 10 plates/ servings&  there were 20 shrimp per Teriaky&  breaded plates

At the Lansing location, the shrimp were 10 per plate. I was sated at five plates.
I'm not usually the first person finished eating, but I would be with you guys.
Our waiter said they'd had a couple of people finish 300, last year.

I've got bad news for ya.  You barely broke 100.  The original 2 orders had 15 ea (30).  Tony / you / and I all had 8 refills of 10 ea (80).  Giving a total of 110.  However, I didn't eat most of my fried shrimp order and gave it to Tony.  Marty gave some to Tony.  And I didn't finish my last plate and gave it to you.  I ended up with right around 100.  Tony probably had 125ish.  And you probably had around 115.
