Can tiger barbs be kept with Mbunas, haps and peacocks?

I would agree, not a good fit.

I have done it before but found the tiger barbs can get pounded in too small of a tank and if they are too small.  In a large tank it can work but you need at least a dozen barbs which take up cichlid space.
If you must have non-mbuna I have had good luck with raibowfish and giant danio in the past. They are fast and like the upper water levels.
It is much easier to have just more mbuna in my opinion.

Thanks Scott! I kept them alone for now.
