Tropical Fish for family
« on: June 16, 2015, 10:37:34 AM »
Hello.. A friend of mine was considering a puppy but opted to try a fish tank for his little girls until they got older. They have a really nice Oceanic 29 gallon cube. Currently they have a few tetras, a couple danio, a cory or two, and a gourami.

I am not as much help as I thought.. there were (3) gourami's.. then one died (internal parasite I guess - swollen stomach, etc) then one chased the other to death. Had a small group of neons.. they disappeared one by one..

The tank parameters are fine, they do water changes, etc.. This is more about what can they put together in the tank that have nice color and variety, and does anyone have any available or know where I can find some? I think the Pet store fish are a bit risky. I really want the lil ones to enjoy the tank but watching their fish die or disappear is a bit disappointing.

Thanks! Marc and family..

A group of saulosi would look nice in a 29 as would a group of shell dwellers or a group of caudopunctatis.
A group of of platies and zebra danios would be easy to keep too.

A shark tank is always a favorite.
