Hi Flow Air pumps and Specs.
« on: January 26, 2015, 05:29:07 PM »
Good evening gang!

I'm thinking of purchasing a new Pump that will handle maybe 14+ tanks and I'll be removing some HOB's and powerheads.

I'm currently looking at Pondmaster AP-40, EcoPlus Comm. Air 3,  Alita AL-40 and maybe Air Force Pro...

Just a question for those of you that have expereince with them.

-The PSI rating really is only a concern for deep tanks and ponds?
-My main concern is Cubic Feet/ minute or Cubic Inches/ minute?
-Any nictable difference between Linear Piston compared to Linear Diaphragm?

 Thanks.

I've had linear piston pumps & linear diaphragm.  But,  the piston one was smaller so it's hard to compare the two.

I'm using an Altia AL-60 right now on 45 or so outlets... it works great & I would recommend Altia brand linear diaphragm because of it.

I'm running an Alita AL-40 now and it is pushing air to 36 outlets.  I like it a lot.

Okay, thanks for the responses. Anyone try the Pondmaster air pumps? Their Mag-Drives are great and really popular.

I'm wondering why there is such a drastic price difference between the Alita Rebuild kit and Pondmaster Rebuild kit. Is there really a difference in the qulity of the kits?

Not one person with a Pond Master Premium Air Pump? Even with their less $10 repair kits?

I might have to be the first one to give em a try then.

Finding that my Coralife luft pump LP-38 is deff. not up to the task of many outputs. And it's developed this tiny pinging noise..?
