Test kits and fish nets

Is there any difference in water test kits from one brand from another or are they all about the same? Also fish nets I've seen all kinds of assorted sizes, wood handle etc. Is price the only determining factor or are there good better best with all this.

I've had good results with the API master test kit...liquid not the strips.

As far as nets I've bought maybe one in the last two years so I just use whatever has come with different tanks and things I've picked up.

I agree the API liquid master test kit is the my preferred method.  I also prefer the soft white nets over the course green nets...I've had had pleco's get stuck in the green nets...

This information helps me, I'd hate to buy a fish net or a water test that doesnt perform well just to pitch it. As far a nets any brand names or just a soft white net ? what about size what a good all around size to get ?

I agree with the others on the test kits. I use API liquid kits and like them, much more accurate than strips. One thing to watch for though if you buy the test kit local is to look and see what the exp date is, it's located on the bottles in the kit. They are usually good for about 4-5 yrs but always try to look for the "freshest" one you can find because sometimes they will sit on the shelf at LFS for quite awhile.

Thanks steve for the heads up. I was planning on ordering the kit online line ie kensfish.com. Maybe I should call and ask about that.

Usually online places move more dry goods than some smaller LFS so you probably won't have to worry about that if you do it from there most likely.
