Sinking wood

Should have the big tank up and running soon so won't be too long till I am ready to add sand and wood etc to it so just putting a feeler out to see if anyone has any nice pieces of wood they are interested in selling. Looking for sinking wood like Malaysian or other self sinkers. Also not just looking for flat run of the mill stuff, it's a show tank so I'm looking for some pieces that have some nice movement to them. Tank is 7ft x 2ft x 31" so looking for some larger pieces but just can't justify the insane prices LFS's want for wood these days.

I found some "jumbo" pieces on amazon.  Was less than the Petsmart, which is the only place locally.

I've been watching Ebay, Craigslist and Aquabid but never even thought to look on Amazon. I'll give them a look.

Get your own like I did. Go to a river. Find the logjams and bamm. I boiled the heck out of mine and scrubbed all loose stuff off. Holy crap can you get some nice pieces. I will never buy driftwood. And they are already waterlogged. Great success. Make sure it's fast moving river. Wood seems to be hardier and less crap on them. See pics. options are endless this way.

Can use one of those large storage bins from walmart. Use a few pots and boils some water. Should work pretty well.

FYI

For all my wood (backoff Blair) I put it in a large cooler and filled it with boiling water.  Did this MANY times for each piece over the course of a few days with EACH piece.  (sometimes a couple pieces at a time with the smaller ones).

Even doing this... I still got some leaching of color into the water.  It took almost 6 months for it to be completely clear.  But, dont give up... its worth it!

When it was leaching colors... it sure made me do water changes often.  I hated that look.  Completely drowned out the color of the peacocks.

I got lucky on this. Maybe I pulled my wood from a faster running stream idk lol. I had no leaching that I could see so far, but its only been 2 weeks.

The problem I am having is I ordered some puka shell from petsmart  and after adding to the tank in my office, the water is still a bit hazy. It said it was the kind you wouldnt have to rinse, I did a little bit anyways. I think it may take me a few water changes to accomplish this. I already cleaned my filters.

I got mine from pet stores.  Yours being in the river (I am assuming locally) took care of the leaching.
