Soo sorry to hear about your loss Steve.  I might have a few for you.  I work in Southfield and go to Royal Oak Tropical usually so I could meet you.

Coming home from a vacation to a lost tank is my worst fear.  Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Steve - words cannot portray how sorry I am to hear about loosing all of you peacocks and haps,  and the damage that was done to you house and yard.  This would be my worst fear when going on vacation.

Just a thought !

With so many of us having children who have access to a vehicle,  wouldn't it be a good idea if we created a Category in the MCA for FISH WATCHERS.

Anyone who is going on vacation could make arrangements to have someone stop by an check / feed / etc your tanks ???

Granted it would probably have to be done with a PM, but still it would be nice to have access to someone who could be available...

I would gladly pay someone to come by and do this....and it would be a revenue generator for the kids or anyone who would be willing to pitch in...

Sorry about your damage to your property and loss of your fish.  Even though fish aren't like furry pets, those of us who have them know they have personality and bring so much enjoyment.  Loss of electricity has always been a fear for me.  Last fall I finally got a whole house generator installed.  For some reason, even though I live in a newer subdivision, we can lose power for hours at a time, several times a year.  This was something I felt I needed before getting a large tank.

Agree this sounds like a good idea.  It would have come in handy for me as I was down for about 4 weeks before I had surgery for my herniated disc.  Had a "fun time" talking someone through a water change and vacuum session from the couch.
