Red fin caudopunctatus from MCAS Banquet
« on: June 14, 2013, 01:55:43 PM »
I won 8 of these in the raffle last night.

They are settling in well.

More pics later.

I have been reading a bit more and some say they may or may not spawn in shells?  Josh or others who've had them, what's your experience been as far as a good setup for their tank?  I have them right now in a 10g tank (they are about 1-1.25" in size)...should be fine for growout correct?

I was thinking maybe a 24x12 plus sand etc long term.  I know a group might do best in a 30x12 or even 36x12 when full grown...but if I want to end up with just a pair, what size might work well for that goal?

I have not spawned them yet.  I have a group of 11 in a 36x12 with tufu rock and muffin sail shells.  As they get bigger I heard these are the shells they perfer.

I currently have yellow fin ones that have spawned great,  Selling there offspring now over an 1" for $5 each

Ours have been great parents and have spawned several times  we keep them in 48x12x12 tanks, once enough fry are in the tank we move the adults into another to spawn more and let the fry grow..
WAY TO MANY I GET LOST WHEN I GET OVER 1000 gallons

I'm going to get a divider for my 50 long and put them in half (so 24x12) as they grow out...down the road I may move my pink convicts out of the other half and then give the caudos the whole tank, or maybe one other Tang in with them.

Updated shots of them, now that I finally plugged in a light.

Moved these guys to a 24x12 space so I could take down the 10g they were in.

They have the right half of this tank:

And the pink convicts have the other half:
