I recommend a lot of machines due to my job at MSU Libraries.
Some, not all by any means, of the "back to school" $329.00 machines are worth having.
My current criteria, since they are so similar is to go to
www.crucial.com and find out what the maximum memory the notebook can handle. Older tech, even with Windows 7, can only handle 2, 3 or 4 gig. New tech can handle 8 gig and up. It may sell with 2 gig, but you can add more if you need it.
They all should have a 1 year manufacturers warranty and an option to pay for 2 additional years. That cuts out many of the BestBuy notebooks. BestBuy purchases machines without a manufactures warranty. They make their profit by selling extended warranties that can be a real pain to deal with.
