HELP

hi i have a alto,comp i beleive is sick . i wa s wondering if these are prone to bloat like other africans or what may cause him to swell up an just sit on the bottom.It must have just occurred within the last few hrs.Ive had him for quite some time now an only feed flake or NLS pellet with no problems.I dont know what happend please help thanks in advance

I don't know if they're susceptible to bloat like malawi cichlids, but try feeding thawed out frozen peas.  Just feed a little bit, and squash the center of the pea out of the shell.  For some reason, this will help relieve symptoms of bloat.  Be prepared to do water changes, as the peas can be messy.

Try what Marty suggested. However, if you have gravel in the tank it is quite possible that the fish swallowed some while picking up the pellet food off the bottom. If it did ingest gravel, it might be doomed if it's not able to regurgitate it.

thanks guys for all the help but he passed alreadyI think it could have ben along the lines of eating a peice of gravel just because he seemed to eat most of his meals out of the gravel and how quickly it happend.Ishould have opened him up just to see again thanks for the help
