Dewey Schehr has passed away

I would like to pass on the sad news that Dewey passed away. He spent the last few years in a nursing home. Dewey was one of the founders of the MCA. He is also a Fellow of our club. There will not be a viewing or Funeral, as per his wishes. Please keep the family in your prayers.

I just got word from Rhonda (his daughter in law), that Dewey passed away this evening. 

For those of you that didn't know him, he and his wife Delores were two of the founding members of the Michigan Cichlid Association. 

He and his wife Delores also owned a well reknowned hatchery "Wet Thumb Aquatics" until health problems forced them to retire.

Dewey, Delores, and their long time employee Bob Schuster (deceased) were the three people directly responsible for my passion in this hobby, and I've missed being able to talk to him, as he was always entertaining and informative.

No memorial services are planned per Dewey's request.

Sad news. Dewey was one cool dude. Prayers for Delores and the rest of his family. R.I.P. Mr Schehr.

Very sorry to hear that.  Dewey was a good friend for many, many years.  I can remember like it was yesterday the MCA board meetings that Deloris and Dewey hosted in their home each month.

RIP Dewey.

Sorry to hear the news.  He was a great person for the hobby,  I remember going to the auctions and listening to him auction stuff off.
I also remember when they had their entire fish set up in their basement. 
The Schehr's really deserve a lot of credit for developing the hobby to the extent it is at today.
